Events give an instant, temporary boost (or penalty) to ratings of nearby stations. The rating will gradually return to normal, following the 2 points every 2.5 days or 5 seconds rule. The detailed perfomance rating shows the performance your company is running at, with a maximum score of 1000.

This rating determines what player actions are allowed within its area of influence and is not the same as station ratings. High score ratings depending on the company's detailed performance rating, you are awarded with a title. This is used in the original loan rating component, although it's not expressed via a negative goal value, but via special-case coding.

The original ratings are recalculated monthly in the game loop. Allows you to fix station ratings to 100%, which stops the station from losing cargo due to a poor rating. The worse your station rating, the less cargo will be allocated to the station in the first place, and where the rating is below 50%, even the cargo that is there will gradually disappear.

If you deliver less you'll get a worse rating. The other means of changing the town rating (frequency of service, bribe, construction, trees) can be switched on and off selectively. The station rating determines the share size;

When a building is covered by multiple catchment areas, the station with the highest rating will get the largest part of the cargo.
